Pharmacy

We fill new prescriptions and refills at no cost for covered medications for:
  • Active duty service members and family members
  • Foreign force members and family members
  • Retirees and family members
  • TRICARE beneficiaries

Filling New Prescriptions

We fill new prescriptions from both military and civilian providers.
Providers from Our Facility
Your provider may submit a prescription directly to the pharmacy during or after your appointment.
  • You can activate the prescription(s) and wait, or
  • You can come back later to pick them up.

Civilian Providers

If you have prescriptions from a TRICARE-authorized civilian provider:
  • The provider can submit an electronic prescription to our pharmacy, or
  • You can hand-carry a written prescription to our pharmacy. Note: This is the least preferred option.
To submit an electronic prescription:
Ask your provider to select the:
  • Pharmacy name: TBD
  • NCPDP/NPI number: TBD
If you hand-carry a written prescription:
  • Written Prescriptions in English
    • Check in at the kiosk. Follow on-screen prompts to check in.
    • Written prescriptions must comply with all federal requirements, including a wet (handwritten) signature. 
    • Electronic prescriptions are preferred. We cannot accept verbal orders, faxed prescriptions, or photocopies. 
  • Written Prescriptions in Korean

Activating New Prescriptions

Go to the Outpatient Pharmacy. Then check in at the kiosk. Processing time varies based on pharmacy staffing and resources.

Requesting Prescription Refills

We have FOUR ways to refill your prescriptions:

Option 1: Online

  • Log in to the MHS GENESIS Patient Portal and select the Rx Refills tab.
  • Select the medication(s) you want to refill.
  • Follow the prompts to select where you want to pick it up.
  • You’ll be given a date and time when your refill(s) will be ready to pick up.
Note: If you’re not a registered user, you’ll need to sign up first.

Option 2: By Phone

  • Call our pharmacy Refill Line at 0503-337-7939. Then, follow the prompts to select where you want to pick up your refills.

Picking Up Your Prescriptions

You’ll need a valid uniformed services ID card to pick up a prescription. This includes children aged 10 and older. Prescriptions not picked up will be returned to stock after 7 business days. If you can’t pick up your prescription within this timeframe, please contact the pharmacy. If you’re picking up a prescription for another person, please bring that person’s valid uniformed services ID (or photocopy, digital picture).

Q-Anywhere (at BDAACH Pharmacy only)

Go to the Outpatient Pharmacy. Pull "Return for Pickup" ticket at kiosk. Your prescriptions will already be ready to go!

Drug Take Back Program

Proper disposal of prescription drugs reduces the risk of unintentional poisoning, drug abuse, and environmental harm.
If you want to dispose of unwanted or unneeded drugs:
  • Drop them in the secure medsafe blue bin located on the far left side of the BDAACH Pharmacy waiting room.
Several exclusions apply. This includes:
  • Syringes
  • Needles
  • Liquids greater than 4 ounces
Also, if a medication appears on the FDA Flush List, it may be disposed by flushing

 

Self-Care Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medication Program

The BDAACH Pharmacy offers a limited selection of Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications without a prescription at no cost through the Self-Care OTC Medication Program. Common items include pain relievers, allergy medications, cough and cold products, and digestive aids, and emergency contraception.

We invite you to talk to your Pharmacy staff if you are experiencing upset stomach, minor skin irritations such as athlete's foot, minor aches and pains, or symptoms of cold and allergies such as a runny/stuffy nose, cough, sneezing, itchy-watery eyes to see if we can help, saving you a trip to the doctor.

These medications are intended for short-term use and are NOT intended to treat chronic conditions.  Patients should seek medical care for worsening symptoms or symptoms lasting longer than 72 hours. 

Procuring OTC medication(s) from the Pharmacy: 
  • Eligible adult patients may pick up OTC medications for themselves by completing the appropriate OTC medication form found at the pharmacy.
  • Parents or adult family members (18 years or older) may pick up OTC medications for eligible family members who are two (2) years of age and older.
  • Eligible adults may pick up OTC medications for another eligible adult patient provided that they have that patient’s ID card, or a photocopy of the patient’s state issued identification card or another form of photocopy identification.

  • Available to TRICARE beneficiaries ages 2 and older.
  • Use of the self-care program is limited to a maximum of 4 products per beneficiary per month, with 1 product per category. Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen are permitted concurrently.
  • Use of the diabetic supplies self-care program is limited to one time per month. A maximum of 30 day supply will be dispensed.
  • Patients will be referred to a provider if requesting the same medication for the same indication and same beneficiary within 30 days.
  • All medications are subject to current availability, we cannot substitute if unavailable. OTC medication selection is provided by the pharmacist. Assessment is based on the patients current reported conditions.
